Sherwood, The terrifying true-crime thriller, a new drama on BBC One, has aired. The James Graham-penned series, which stars a who's who of British acting royalty, is described as a gripping drama that examines "the tattered social and political fabric of contemporary, post-Brexit Britain." Along with Joanne Froggatt, who starred in Liar and Downton Abbey, and Alun Armstrong, the series stars David Morrissey, Robert Glenister, and Lesley Manville. Two unexpected and horrific killings rock an already shattered town, prompting Ian St. Clair, Morrissey's detective, to launch an investigation.

Yes, Sherwood is based on a true story. The series itself said in the trailer that the show is based on true events. The Series is scripted by screenwriter James Graham. He is Grown up in Nottinghamshire, Where the incident happened. So the scriptwriter was well aware of the story. At the beginning of the series, there is a statement: “This story was initially inspired by two killings which took place in the Nottinghamshire mining community where the author grew up. For the purposes of dramatization, the characters and the events have been fictionalized.” Eventhough the characters and events have been fictionalized the series is ripped apart from real-life events.

The Tragic True Story Sherwood
In 2004, Nottinghamshire witnessed a surreal sea of police, search helicopters, and media. Annesley Woodhouse, a village in Nottinghamshire was the center of attention. Two different murders happened in Nottinghamshire. People were shocked to hear the news and feared coming out of their houses. But soon the murders get caught by the investigation officers.
The First Murder
Robert Boyer, a former miner from Annesley woodhouse committed a brutal murder and hide in the woods. He killed Keith ‘Froggy’ Frogson, who was also a miner by hitting him with a crossbow and stabbing him multiple times with a samurai sword. His intentions were nothing to do with mining. The investigation said he was delusional. The murder took place after the miners' strike so everyone thought that the murder happened because of any arguments happened between Boyer and Frogson, turns out Boyer used to stalk Frogson for 2 weeks to notice his movements and to plan the murder. He was obsessed and was trying to dismantle his home. Two weeks later the murder, Boyer put fire on Keith’s house while his daughter and Boyfriend were inside but fortunately they escaped. Boyer was caught on August 15. He was hiding in a shelter put together by a hill.
The Second Murder
The second Murder Victim was a hairdresser called Chanel Tylor. She was killed by her own father Terry Rodgers. She was killed after 7 weeks of her marriage. Chanel Taylor lived her life with an abusive father who will come home and hurt her mother and her. But soon after Chanel’s Mother kicked out her father of the house. When Chanel moved out with her boyfriend Lee Taylor she took her father with her and when they married Chanel asked her father to move out because of the reason Terry Rodgers shot his daughter twice in the head and the body. After the murder, Terry Rodgers chose to hide in the woods where Boyer was hiding. He was caught after several weeks.
