Russell Ira Crowe is an actor and filmmaker from New Zealand. Russell was born in New Zealand. But he had spent 10 years of his childhood in Australia and settled there permanently when he was 21 years old. He became famous internationally for his role as Roman General Maximus Decimus Meridius in the historical movie Gladiator. For that movie, he won a Broadcast Film Critics Association Award, Academy Award, Empire Award, and London Film Critics Circle Award for Best Leading Actor, along with 10 other nominations in the same category.
