In addition to being a dedicated Scientologist, Kirstie Alley once revealed to Howard Stern that even her two children were her followers.

The Cheers actor lost her battle with cancer at the age of 71. Lillie Price Stevenson and William True Stevenson, her two adopted children, posted the sad news of her death yesterday on her official Twitter account.

Although the actress was outspoken in her support of Scientology, her long-running conflict with Leah Remini was also well-known.

Kirstie was never hesitant about expressing her preference for Scientology.

She made an appearance on Howard Stern's radio show in 2015, when she spoke extensively about her spiritual development.

When asked what the OT7 title meant, the actress, who had just received it, explained: “It means that you have gotten rid of all the things that would create aberrated behavior in you that you didn’t want. It’s an awareness level, it’s an achievement.”

When questioned about whether she was actually a member of the Church of Scientology, Kirstie further defended herself. She said that she wasn't a "fake" OT7.

She also disclosed that her two children were followers of Scientology by “choice”.

A star of Drop Dead Gorgeous and Cheers, Kirstie Alley, has passed away. She was 71 at the time of death.

True and Lillie Parker, Alley's children, said that the actress had passed away from cancer. True and Lillie revealed that Alley passed away on Monday via a tweet on Twitter.

They said in a statement that, "We are sad to inform you that our incredible, fierce and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered."

Kirstie Alley’s Battle Of Cancer

As of this writing, Kirstie's family had not disclosed the type of cancer she had.

They expressed their gratitude to the Moffitt Cancer Center's staff of doctors and nurses in the heartfelt tribute they posted on Twitter for caring for her during her struggle with the fatal illness.

A lot of well-known artists have since expressed their admiration for the Cheers actor.

Kirstie and John Travolta had a close friendship, and he posted on Instagram to express his sorrow over her passing.
