What are the Points Table Rules of IPL 2021?

Each team's primary goal is to finish in one of the top four positions on the IPL points table. Being in the top two is a secondary target since those teams have an extra chance to play in the Finals. The number of points each team acquired will determine their standings. When more than one team has the same number of points, the Net Run Rate is used to break the tie. The following are the rules for winning points:

  • A team gets 2 points for a win.

  • A team gets 1 point in case the game is abandoned or ends abruptly as No Result.

  • A team gets 0 points in case of a loss.
