Significance Of Indian Coast Guard Day 2022
The Indian Coast Guard will celebrate its 46th Raising Day on February 1, 2022. As the world's fourth-largest coast guard, the Indian Coast Guard has played a crucial role in securing Indian coastlines and enforcing India's Maritime Zones regulations. The Indian Coast Guard was formally established on February 1, 1977, by the Coast Guard Act, 1978, passed by the Indian Parliament. The Ministry of Defense supervises it.ICG has grown from a small force of seven surface platforms in 1978 to a formidable force of 158 ships and 70 planes today. History of the Indian Coast Guard Day 2022
The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Day was established by the Indian Parliament on August 18, 1978. On February 1, 1977, the interim Indian Coast Guard was established to combat sea-borne smuggling of goods, hating India's domestic economy. The ICG has saved over 10,000 lives and apprehended over 14,000 criminals since its inception. The Director-General of the Indian Coast Guard is based at the Indian Coast Guard's headquarters in New Delhi. Virender Singh Pathania is the current Director-General. The Indian Coast Guard is involved in a variety of tasks. This organization is involved in a variety of projects. It is a joint effort between the Indian Navy, Customs, and the Police.
