Future Games of London and Ubisoft created and released the arcade-style role-playing game series Hungry Shark. In the games, players can command a variety of distinct shark species, including makos, great whites, hammerheads, reef sharks, megamouths, megalodons, basking sharks, and whale sharks. Up until the next, more potent shark becomes available for purchase, the player must consume other sea species and expand in size. Hungry Shark World, one of the best free iPhone and Android apps, received 10 million downloads in just six days in May 2016. For the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch, Hungry Shark World was released in 2018. Microtransactions were completely eliminated, and the graphics were improved. It attracted 1 billion gamers in 2022.

Hungry Shark Gameplay

In Hungry Shark, the player controls a lone shark that feeds on various sea creatures to grow in size until the next, stronger sharks are unlocked. In Hungry Shark World, a megamouth shark is unable to eat small mines, but a megalodon is able to, and similarly, a reef shark cannot eat lionfish, but a great white shark can. These differences in ability affect how many species the player can eat. Some species are hostile to the shark, and some cannot be eaten.
