Co-WIN is an upgraded version of eVIN, which will be available soon in PlayStore, where individuals can do self registration for the vaccination session. Users can get this co-win app download free via the Google PlayStore. However, the application is not yet launched and is in the pre-product stage, accessed by the health officials who are uploading the data of the health workers, who will get covid vaccines at the first stage. Already, more than 75 lakh beneficiaries have been registered during the dry run. It is only accessed by the officials and this app cannot be accessed by people as of now. Once it's launched, then people register for the corona vaccine, either via the cowin app registration or via the cowin website registration. The Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan has announced that the covid vaccination in its first phase for priority group beneficiaries will be free in all states. “I appeal to the people not to be misguided by rumours regarding safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccine. We will not compromise on any protocol before approving a vaccine,” also added that vaccine hesitancy was an issue when the country started the polio immunisation drive, but “we must remember its success”. According to the recommendations of the National Expert Group on Vaccine Administration for Covid-19, Around 1 crore health workers, who have been working with both government and private hospitals will be receiving first in the line. The District Collector or District Magistrate with the support of the District Immunization Officer will decide the date and time for the session and link the session sites, vaccinators, supervisors, and beneficiaries. Respective District Administration will approve the beneficiaries for the sessions and site allocations.   1. Initially, an individual will have to do self-registration to register for covid vaccine India. 

  2. Select the method of authentication which includes, 

  • Biometric- The details will autofill the platform, as of in the Adhaar card.

  • OTP Authentication- OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number, and on being successful, the demographic details will auto-populate.

  • Demographic Authentication- Individuals will have to enter the demographic details manually. 

  1. Also, the individual will have to provide photo identity from any one of the given below. 

  • Aadhaar Card

  • Driving Licence

  • Health Insurance Smart Card

  • PAN Card

  • Passbook issued by Bank or Post Office
