Tilt the soil using a hoe.
This is optional, but you could put fertilizers on the tile to harvest higher-quality crops. But remember that only one type of fertilizer can be placed on a tile at a time.
Plant your seeds on the tiles you just tilted. Make sure you plant your crops near a Scarecrow, or crows will come and eat your crops.
Water your crop (this is something you'll have to do daily so the crop can grow)
Wait for the crop to grow! Each crop has a different growing time, so you should check before plating it to ensure it's possible to grow it during the season. Crops that are not extended in season will die on the first day of a new season (unless they are multi-seasonal crops)
