How to beat Godrick The Grafted?

Here are the most excellent suggestions for thriving in your battle against the foremost Great Rune-holder, Godrick The Grafted:

  • Split Godrick's alert by summoning Nepheli Loux

  • Godrick's laughter suggests you should maintain space

  • Attack from the rear during Godrick's stage transition

  • Keep an eye over the dragon bite invasion

  • Maintain a safe distance from the flame attack

1) Split Godrick's alert by summoning Nepheli Loux

On the method to Godrick's arena, there is a doorway on the right beyond the barriers protected by Warhawks. There you'll encounter the soldier, Nepheli Loux. Finish her dialogue, and she'll promise to oppose Godrick with you. After this, you can invoke Nepheli just above the mist wall to Godrick's den. She can be a more effective partner than any Spirit Ashes you can summon at this stage of the game, and while she won't deal a tremendous amount of damage to Godrick, she'll divide his attention, leaving you open to backstab him.

2) Godrick's laugh means you should keep your distance.

One of Godrick's numerous destructive invasions is a bass slam. A second or so after the slam itself lands, another, even better the powerful and wider-ranging shockwave will originate from Godrick's place. The most helpful thing to do when he completes this action is to keep your space. Fortunately, during Godrick's initial phase, he will preface this attack with a laugh, so keep an ear out for that.In the second stage, this invasion grows: somewhat of a laugh, it's a more modest grunt, and there will be three blows rather than two. The third stands postponed by an additional pair of moments, so be wary. Again, keep your space while this is going on.

3) Attack from behind during Godrick's phase transition

Deal sufficiently damage to Godrick, and it will provoke his second stage, and you'll observe a brief cutscene where he cuts off his arm and grafts on a dragon's skull as a substitute. Nevertheless, there's a concise piece of the period between staggering Godrick and the cutscene birth, where Godrick will begin shouting. Visit his sides or behind him to avoid his self-attack, but keep hacking away at him during these precious few seconds because it's one of the only opportunities to deal damage in the entire fight safely.

4) Watch out for the dragon bite attack.

Presumably, the most devastating of Godrick's invasions is the dragon bite in his second stage, where he digs you up into his dragon's jaws and ignites you. This is likely to be a one-hit-kill if you're caught.

5)  Don't get greedy: keep your distance during the flame attacks

During Godrick's second stage, he adores using his recently grafted dragon head component as a flamethrower. Your best bet is to utilize the terrain elevation and keep your distance as much as possible. He'll always begin his second phase with one of these attacks; run backward at the start in an attempt to bring Nepheli out of danger.
