You must search carefully between levels -53 and -59 because these levels have the highest concentration of Diamond. If you go deeper, more Diamonds, Lapis, and Redstone can be found. At the time, at Y -60, Bedrock blocks start to spawn and may end up hindering the Diamonds from spawning. So keeping that in your mind, you must begin looking above -60.

You can mine Diamond Ore only with an Iron Pickaxe or better. Diamonds were less common in open spaces such as caves, so to expand the chances of finding Diamonds in Minecraft, you must strip-mine in straight lines in all directions. The best way to mine Diamonds in Minecraft 1.18 was to dig down to level -57 and to dig a long 2-block-tall tunnel in any direction. Now, start mining to either side in more 2x1 tunnels, leaving a 2-block-wide gap between each new tunnel.
