How To Apply For National Merit Scholarship?
The National Merit Scholarship is a scheme where the Government Department of School Education and Literacy grants monthly stipends to the candidates in order to fulfill educational expenditures. The program is for students of all categories but also if they satisfy the financial demand. The students will be selected on the basis of merit, which will be finalized after the Mental Ability Test, MAT, and the Scholastic Aptitude Test or SAT. The candidates must apply for the scheme online through the official website of the National Scholarship Portal. According to nvshq, those students can apply for NMMS online. How Does National Merit Scholarship Work?
1. Eligibility
The student must be a resident of India.
The applicant should be studying in Class VII and VIII in the Government aided school.
The candidate should be scored a minimum of 55% marks in the qualifying examinations.
The total annual income of the parents combined from all the resources should not exceed Rs.1,50,000 from all the sources.
2. Documents
The applicant's passport-sized photograph.
The candidate's digitally scanned signature
The applicant's aadhar card which is served as identity proof.
The annual income of the family is the income certificate.
The Domicile Certificate of the particular region of the candidate.
The candidate's Marksheet and Result certificates of classes VII and VIII.
The Candidate's ration card of the family with the candidate's name.
The caste certificate in the case of reserved categories.
The candidate's certificate of disability
The candidate's passbook photo
Application For National Merit Scholarship
First of all visit the official page of the National Scholarship Portal at scholarships.gov.in.
Go to the home page, then click on New Registration.
Then Academic Year 2021-22 Guidelines for National Scholarship Portal Registration will open.
You have to read carefully all the instructions for the application which is Undertaking By Applicant or Parents/Guardian.
After that click on Continue, then the registration form will open automatically.
You can enter all the required details in the registration form
Then Verify your entered mobile number which is using a Time Password or OTP.
After that click on the register after filling in all the details.
Then select Login to apply and enter the Application ID and Password and the Captcha Code.
After that upload all the documents in the required formats and sizes.
You must enter the Bank Account Details to receive the Scholarship stipends through DBT mode.
After that click on Submit.
