How Many Teams in IPL 2021?

The Indian Premier League's 14th edition (IPL 2021) countdown has started with the eight franchises announcing the list of retained and released players on January 20. The deadline for the list of traded players to be announced is February 4, while the auction date for IPL 2021 players is tentatively scheduled for February 11. The auction is said to be a mini-auction by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. In total, eight IPL franchises have released fifty-seven players ahead of the 2021 auction, including the fast bowling legend Lasith Malinga of Mumbai Indians, former Rajasthan Royals captain Steve Smith, off-spinner Harbhajan Singh of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and all-rounder Glenn Maxwell of Kings XI Punjab.
