The Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) chose to play with its captain KL Rahul batting for 63 runs off 52 balls and Nicholas finishing the game 33 runs off 17 balls totalling the team’s score to 178 for 4. The Chennai Super Kings seem to look like, not in its form and were terribly underestimated. The opening superb partnership of Shane Watson and Faf Du Plessis performance really saved the day for CSK with an unbeaten score of 181 runs accomplishing the task between themselves.
