Iran arrested two well-known actors who voiced solidarity with the protest and removed their headscarves in public in a prominent act of defiance against the regime, as reported by media on Sunday.
Hengameh Ghaziani and Katayoun Riahi were both imprisoned after being hailed by prosecutors for their “provocative” social media posts and media activity, the state-run IRNA news agency said. In addition, Iran’s clerical administration has been shaken by more than two months of women-led demonstrations flashed by the death in custody of Mahsa Amini and a 22-year-old woman of Kurdish origin who the morality police had arrested in Tehran.

According to sourced reports, Hengameh Ghaziani was arrested for publicly expressing solidarity with anti-government protests and removed their headscarves in public in an apparent act of defiance against the regime, media state on Sunday.
Ghaziani, the vocal critic of protesters, was arrested for initiating and supporting the “riots” and for communicating with opponent media, IRNA said. The 52-year-old film star had already demonstrated, summoned by the judiciary, and then posted a video on Instagram of herself drawing the obligatory hijab.
