GP Birla Scholarship 2020 is sponsored by GP Birla Educational Foundation, to keep alive and cherish the dream of the Late Shri G.P Birla, the industrialist and philanthropist. GP Birla Scholarship 2020 scheme is to promote education, increase human resources and empower the younger generation of the country.

GP Birla Scholarship 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The GP Birla Scholarship is for talented and well deserving meritorious students who belong to West Bengal and have completed their class XII Examinations securing 80% marks or more under West Bengal state board or 85% or more from the ISC/CBSE Board. The students must also be from families whose income is less Rs.300,000 per year and are in need of financial aid to pursue their studies. If students secure 95% or more from state or ISC/CBSE Board, the maximum family income per year will be relaxed in special cases which is at the discretion of the Trust.

GP Birla Scholarship 2020 Amount

The Scholarship amount is granted to a limited number of selected students. An amount of Rs.50,000/- per year per student to cover Tuition fees and Hostel Fees will be given. The scholarship amount will be given in subsequent years depending upon the performance of the student.in the current year. The scholarship amount will be given annually till completion of the course but not more than 4 years. An additional one time payment of Rs.7000/- will be given to the student in the first year of the course, towards purchase of books.

GP Birla Scholarship 2020 - Selection Procedure

For selection of Students who deserve the Scholarship, an Expert Panel, headed by Prof. Sumanta Basu of Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata and Dr. Rajib Das of Jadavpur University, Kolkata, will review the applications received and shortlist the students for interview. Interviews may be scheduled in October 2020 or later when it is safe and practical to conduct the same. The interview dates will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates. The decision of the Expert Panel is final. Through the GP Birla Scholarship main aim of the GP Birla Educational Foundation is to produce future leaders of the country.

Eligible and deserving students who meet all the above conditions and are in deep need of financial assistance for pursuing further studies can apply in the prescribed format available in the application section of the GP Birla Educational Foundation Website.
