Gordon Behind Bars

Gordon Behind Bars is a British television show in which Gordon Ramsay instructs cooking to convicts at Brixton Prison. It aired on Channel 4 in four parts from June 26 to July 17, 2012. Ramsay, a Michelin-starred chef in the United Kingdom, spends six months at Brixton Prison teaching convicts to cook and running a viable business offering services prepared within the cell to the general public.

The convict chefs of Brixton prison form a business called "Bad Boys' Bakery," with the slogan "Life-Changing Taste," selling a Ramsay version of a lemon treacle pastry, after receiving some coaching from Ramsay. The tarts are still offered at 15 places as of September 2017, with intentions to extend to 190 venues across London.

Ramsay said that organizing and motivating inmates at Brixton Prison for the series, which follows his efforts to establish an in-house bakery where the guys may receive training and catering certifications, was difficult.

The chef grumbled about the inmates' lack of motivation and had furious clashes with both inmates and jail authorities before becoming impressed by his protégés' hard work and accomplishments.

Mr. Wahhab brought on Insley, who took part in the Bad Boys Bakery initiative, and ex-prisoners Paul Wyatt and Tesfa Jones were offered jobs at Ramsay's kitchens at the Savoy. Anthony Kelly, a former convict, now serves for the St Giles Trust, which helps ex-offenders get back on their feet.

Gordon Ramsay’s Arrest

Ramsay was warned in 1993 for "gross obscenity in a public bathroom." In England, a caution is issued for a small offense, the culprit is not convicted, but the case is recorded in the court files for future crimes to use as evidence of character.

Ramsay had apparently been out drinking all night with pals when the event occurred in the early hours of the morning. The three buddies were messing around in a subway station's restrooms when the station master called the cops. The boys were leaving the station when the cops arrived, and they were arrested. There were no court appearances after they received the cautions. Ramsay claims he has no recollection of the incident.

His publicist claims that one of the guys was peeing in a toilet and that the rest of them were just making a lot of noise and being obnoxious. She claims the men did not engage in any obscene or vulgar behavior and that they were simply pals having a good time after drinking excessively.

Gordan Ramsay’s Inspiration To Help The Prisoners

Despite the fact that Ramsay was arrested a long time ago, he didn't completely forget about it. The Bad Boys' Bakery opened in HMP Brixton in 2012, thanks to the culinary genius. HMP Lambeth is a jail in London's Lambeth district.

The bakery was started by Ramsay as a way to help inmates learn a trade that would help them find work after they were released. He anticipated that by learning these new skills, some inmates would be able to build a more secure existence for themselves and avoid repeat offending.

The offenders are taught how to make a range of baked goods from scratches, such as bread, sponge cake, and even wedding cakes. Local cafés and eateries love their famous sourdough bread. They also sell homemade baked products at the prison's visitor center's café.

The bakery gives the offenders a sense of pride and success in addition to teaching them essential skills. It also helps to improve their spirits, as many of the inmates enjoy their time working. Follow this space for more updates!
