As per the report, there were recent attacks from an Android device, which primarily targeted users of the social media site, Facebook. The hackers have allegedly robbed Facebook users of personal information and credentials. The French cybersecurity firm Evina reportedly found malicious code in 25 Google Play Apps.

Many of the Android apps that have recently been banned could infiltrate devices by projecting genuine functionality, according to the French cyber-security company. Furthermore, reports also state that once the application is installed on a device, it can automatically activate a hidden code. This hidden code then starts to steal personal information from the device.

The app which targeted Facebook users, according to reports, is waiting for the Android user to launch the device's social media application. The malicious application imitates the website as soon as the user accesses Facebook on their device, and overlays a web browser window on top of the Facebook app.
