The golden joystick awards, also known as people gaming awards, are best known as a video game award ceremony. It awards the best video games of the year, which the British General Public initially voted for. Still, there are online sites where we can vote for a particular category online. As of 2018, the ceremony was celebrating its 36th year, and it's the second oldest video game award ceremony after the arcade awards.

This year's nominees were decided by the judging panel from future gaming brands including Gamesradar+, PC Gamer, Edge magazine, Retro Gamer, Play magazine and the future game show. The diversity of this year nomination which will be reflecting the importance of Indie game and long running service game during 2021 during with a high number of profile titles have been facing unavoidable delays.

It is yet to thrilled to see Wildermyth and Psychonauts 2 leading the shortlists with four nominees this year and along with the title called Call of Duty: Warzone resident evil village and ratchet and clank.

For the nominees to be eligible, a game must be released between November 20 2020, when last year's games were closed and the present day.
In some cases, the upcoming games, which are yet to release during the golden joystick awards for voting window from Tuesday, October 19 to November 5th Friday, will be considered by our judges for additional voting lists after they have been released and reviewed debated.
The games are released after public voting closes on November 5, but the broadcast is on November 23.
