With the rapid rise in the number of Covid Cases, the Government of Haryana has imposed a lockdown in the state for seven days. Lockdown will be implemented in the State from 3rd May to 9 May. Only select and essential personal are allowed to travel anywhere in the State. But to do this citizens should apply and get the Saral Haryana E-Pass. So anyone who wants to enter or leave the state should apply for the Epass. For intrastate travel, you are required to hold a Movement Pass. Both can be done online and acquired easily. Is Epass Required For Haryana?

Due to the sudden spike in the number of Covid cases in the state, the government of Haryana has made Epass Mandatory for travel. So anyone who wishes to travel into or leave the state should apply for an Epass online. The announcement was made last Sunday by the State's Home and Health Minister. To apply for the Epass you are required to register and create an account on the official government website. You are required to provide a valid mobile number as well for the registration. Added to this, residents need to apply for a Movement Pass if they wish to travel within the State. Read on to learn more about the application process for both the passes.

How to Apply For Epass in Haryana?

Before applying for you are required to register and create an account at saralharyana.org. You will require a registered mobile number to do this. Once you’ve created an account you can follow the below-given steps to apply for an Epass,

  • Go to the official site using this link.

  • Enter all the required details.

  • Ensure that the furnished is correct and that you have the proper documents to back it up.

  • Once you’ve finished filling it, complete the captcha test and hit submit.

Please note that once the Epass is approved, you are required to carry the Epass along with your personal ID with you at all times. It is not your right to get an Epass, you will be provided with one only if it approved by authorities. The pass will be issued only if all the provided information is correct and valid. Once you submit, you will receive an SMS confirming your application. If your application is approved, you will receive a second SMS confirming this.

You can apply for the Movement pass online by visiting the official website. Listed below are the steps involved in registering for your Epass,

  • Register and create an account with all necessary information and a registered mobile number.

  • Enter all the required details.

  • Ensure that all the details are entered are right.

  • Enter your Vehicle/RC No, Vehicle Make, Vehicle Color, and Vehicle Type.

  • Submit the application.

Please note that once the Movement pass is approved, you are required to travel only in the registered vehicle and carry the Movement Pass along with your personal ID with you at all times.

  • Type ‘SARAL’ and send it to 7738299899 from your registered mobile number to track the status of your application.

Please note that Epass will be issued if all your furnished information is in order with the terms set by the State.

Haryana Lockdown Guidelines

With the State under lockdown for seven days, the government has released a list of services that will be allowed and not allowed. You can find them listed below,

  • All goods traffic will be allowed to ply

  • Shops, including Kirana and single shops selling essential goods, and carts, including ration shops under PDS, those dealing with food and groceries for daily use, hygiene items, fruits and vegetables, dairy and milk booths, poultry, meat, fish, animal feed and fodder are allowed to operate if ensuring strict social distancing.

  • Print and electronic media, including DTH and cable services, are allowed.

  • IT and IT-enabled services, with up to 50 per cent strength, data and call centres for government activities only will be allowed to operate.

  • Buses for public transport with 50 per cent capacity, taxi and cab aggregators with a maximum of three passengers in addition to the driver, metro rail will be allowed to ply.

  • Passenger movement by trains will be allowed at 50% capacity.

  • Hotels, homestays, lodges and motels, which are accommodating those stranded due to the lockdown, medical and emergency staff, aircrew are allowed to remain open.

  • Students or those who have to attend various exams will be allowed to go to examination centres during the lockdown and their hall tickets should be considered valid for the same.

  • Movement of maids, cooks, drivers, domestic help, nurses, medical attendees and caregivers to senior citizens, physically challenged and ailing persons shall be allowed during the lockdown period, as per the guidelines.

  • All cinema halls, malls, shopping complexes, gymnasiums, sports complexes, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres, bars and auditoriums, assembly halls and similar places shall remain closed.

  • All religious places and places of worship shall be closed to the public.

  • Religious congregations are strictly prohibited during the lockdown.

  • In the case of funerals, a congregation of more than 20 people will not be permitted.

  • Hotels, restaurants and eateries, food joints, including those in malls, will remain open only for home delivery up to 10:00 PM.

  • Roadside food joints, including fruit stalls, are allowed to open only to provide take away services.

  • In demarcated containment zones, the activities allowed under these guidelines will not be permitted except for home delivery of essential food, milk and ration items.

  • Offices of the Union government, its autonomous and subordinate offices and public corporations shall operate according to directions from the Central authorities.

  • State government offices, its autonomous bodies, corporations, that will be allowed to operate without restrictions include police, home guards, civil defence, fire and emergency services, disaster management, prisons, electricity, water and sanitation.

  • All other offices of the state government departments shall strictly follow the directions issued by the chief secretary's office.

Covid Situation in Haryana

The lockdown was declared on Sunday due to a sudden spike in the number of Covid-19 cases. Earlier a weekend curfew was declared in nine districts, namely, Gurugram, Faridabad, Panchkula, Sonipat, Karnal, Rohtak, Hisar, Sirsa, and Fatehabad from 10 PM till 5 AM. but a seven-day lockdown was declared on Sunday by the state’s Home and Health Minister, Anil Vij. On Sunday, the state registered 125 Covid fatalities, taking the death toll in the state to a total of 4,341. Owing to the lockdown, people are required to get an Epass to travel into or out of the state. At the same time, residents of Haryana should apply for a Movement pass for travelling within the State.
