Ekadashi is a day celebrated by the Hindus. The day falls on the eleventh lunar day of every two lunar phases. Ekadashi is a day that is usually celebrated by observing fast. As Stated early Ekadashi is celebrated honouring Lord Vishnu. Devotees who observe fast on this day will be showered with blessings. Their sins will be redeemed and they will be filled with the belief that all their troubles will be solved.

Ekadashi Dates in 2020 

Ekadashi is considered a very auspicious day in Hinduism and observed by partial fasting. The eleventh lunar day each of the two lunar phases (Krishna Paksha and Sukla Paksha) is called Ekadashi. According to the Hindu lunar calendar; 25 Ekadashi will be observed this year. Ekadashi fasting spans for three days. Devotees eat only one meal in the afternoon the day prior before fasting day to make sure there is no residual food in the stomach on the next day. Devotees keeps a strict fast on Ekadashi day and breaks the fast on next day only after dusk. Eating  all kinds of grains and cereals is prohibited during Ekadashi fasting. Devotees can choose any method to observe fasting like without water, or with only water, accompanied by  fruits, with one time meal according to their will and body power. However it should be decided before the fast.
