Ekadashi Dates in 2020 

Ekadashi is considered a very auspicious day in Hinduism and observed by partial fasting. The eleventh lunar day each of the two lunar phases (Krishna Paksha and Sukla Paksha) is called Ekadashi. According to the Hindu lunar calendar; 25 Ekadashi will be observed this year. Ekadashi fasting spans for three days. Devotees eat only one meal in the afternoon the day prior before fasting day to make sure there is no residual food in the stomach on the next day. Devotees keeps a strict fast on Ekadashi day and breaks the fast on next day only after dusk. Eating  all kinds of grains and cereals is prohibited during Ekadashi fasting. Devotees can choose any method to observe fasting like without water, or with only water, with only fruits, with one time latex food according to their will and body power. However it should be decided before the fast.

The Ekadashi in September 2020 is observed on 13 September. The Ekadashi tithi starts at 4:13 am on Sunday and ends at 3:16 am on 14 September (Monday). Parana time will fall between 1:30pm to 3:59pm on 14 September.

The auspicious occasion of Putrada Ekadashi takes place twice a year. It falls on August 15 and 29th, 2020. On August 15th, Bhadrapada Krishna Paksha is the paksha and Aja is the Ekadashi that Begins at 14:01, Aug 14 and Ends at 14:20, Aug 15. On August 29th Bhadrapada Shukla Paksha and Parsva Ekadashi that begins at 08:38, Aug 28 and ends at  08:17, Aug 29. 

Ekadashi in July 2020 

The auspicious occasion of Putrada Ekadashi takes place twice a year - once in Paush Shukla Paksha and the other during Shravan or Sawan Shukla Paksha. The Shravan Putrada Ekadashi this year falls on July 30.
