Eight Is Enough

Eight Is Enough is a famous TV comedy-drama series from America. It ran on ABC from 15th March 1977 till 23rd May 1981. The show chronicled the life of syndicated newspaper columnist Tom Braden. He was a real-life parent with eight children who had written a book with the same title. The program focuses on a California family with eight children. Those children from oldest to youngest are David, Mary, Joanie, Susan, Nancy, Elizabeth, Tommy, and Nicholas. Their father, Tom Bradford, is a newspaper columnist for the fictional Sacramento Register. Tom's wife, Joan, was a homemaker and cared for the children.

1) Willie Aames (Tommy Bradford)

Willie is famous for portraying Tommy Bradford on the TV series Eight Is Enough. A bad boy on the show, Willy played the role of Bibleman for nearly ten years after subduing his cocaine habit. He co-starred with Scott Baio on Charles in Charge from 1984 to 1990. Willie decided to quit acting and became an excellent financial adviser. He became more famous when he portrayed the title character in the Bibleman between 1995 to 2003.

2) Dianne Kay (Nancy Bradford)

Dianne Kay became popular for playing the role of Nancy Bradford on Eight Is Enough. Other than the series, she performed in Steven Spielberg's 1941, a World War II comedy. Inspite of her movie success, she thought to quit acting in 1999 to build a family of her own. She also acted in the series Reggie in 1983 and Glitter in 1985. She gave her last appearance in the 1999 episode of Dick Van Dyke's detective series Diagnosis: Murder. In that, she performed as an oblivious wife of a serial killer.

3) Betty Buckley (Abby Bradford)

Betty replaced Bradford's mom, which Diana Hyland earlier played. Diana died due to breast cancer after shooting four episodes. The producers saw Joans Bradford passing, creating Tom, a widower at the beginning of season 2. Betty then played Sandra Sue "Abby" Abbott, who then tied the knot with Tom. Betty stayed in the spotlight, performing latestly on the Television show 'Pretty Little Liars' and The Chicago Code. She is also famous in the theater world, which won her a Tony Award for Best Actress in 1983 for singing "Memory" from Cats. Her other movie roles include Sondra Walker in Frantic, Dixie Scott in Tender Mercies, Kathy in Another Woman, and Mrs.Jones in The Happening.

4) Grant Goodeve (David Bradford)

Grant Goodeve played the role of David Bradford on Eight Is Enough. Grant Goodeve is the eldest child in the Bradford family. He sang the theme song of Eight is Enough. Grant's career includes programs like Northern Exposure, Dynasty, and hosting a travel show. He performed in guest roles in series like T. J. Hooker, The Love Boat, Dynasty, and Fantasy Island, among others. In 1983, Grant portrayed a role in the TV pilot The Night Watchman. In 1984, Grant hosted the show Solid Gold Hits. He has made the voice work for commercials and video games.

Connie played the role of the youngest Bradford daughter Elizabeth. Connie portrayed a dancer in the famous series Fame from 1982-1983. Susan Richardson played the role of Susan Bradford Stockwell. She was seen on Happy Days before she became a part of Eight is Enough. She portrayed the role with her same name. In 1987, she was a topic of controversy after claiming she had been kidnapped and almost about to be killed by North Korean filmmakers. Susan fought against the addiction. She didn't take part in the 2010 Today Show cast reunion. Currently, Susan resides in Pennsylvania, away from the limelight. She also works at a nursing home.

Adam Rich played the role of Nicholas Bradford. He appeared as the youngest one in the Bradford family. Adam appeared in a recurring role in the famous series Code Red from 1981 to 1982. His appearance during his years as a child actor, having his pageboy haircut, inspired thousands of parents to imitate the appearance of their young sons. Adam's character on the show made him known as "America's little brother." Adam took part in an epic prank made by Dave Eggers' Might magazine in the mid-'90s.
