Initially, Romanian police were said to have conducted the raid in relation to the kidnapping of two girls, according to the news source Libertatea. The two British males have been in custody for 24 hours as allegations of rape and human trafficking are being looked into.

Andrew and Tristan had been taken into custody twice already this year.

In April, they were arrested and questioned for five hours after two women claimed the two had kidnapped and were holding them against their will in the village of Voluntari.

They were released as investigations continued, but on Thursday they were taken into custody on charges of rape, human trafficking, and organising a gang.

A representative for Tate was unable to comment further on the arrest other than to say that the brothers would be assisting the authorities with their inquiry.
