On May 28, 1965, the Dhanbad coal mine accident occurred at a coal mine near Dhanbad, India. On that tragic day, an explosion occurred in Dhori colliery in Dhanbad, resulting in a mine fire. The fire claimed the lives of 268 miners. Dhori colliery is located near Bermo. The mine was privately owned by the Raja of Ramgarh at the time.

SGR 180620 is a soft gamma repeater that was detected in 1979 and classified as a magnetar, a type of neutron star with a very intense magnetic field. SGR 180620 is roughly 14.5 kiloparsecs (50,000 light-years) away from Earth, in the constellation Sagittarius, on the far side of the Milky Way. It has a maximum diameter of 20 kilometres (12 miles) and rotates every 7.5 seconds on its axis.
