#2. Test debut of Carl Hooper
Carl Llewelyn Hooper the former West Indian Cricket Player and a former caption of tests and ODIs was born on 15th December 1966. He was a right-handed batsman and off-spin bowler who rose to prominence in the late 1980s as part of a team that included Gordon Greenidge, Desmond Haynes, Malcolm Marshall, and Courtney Walsh and played 16 years for the West Indies.
#3. Thai Airways Airbus A310-200 crashes
Thai Airways International Flight 261 (TG261/THA261) was a scheduled domestic passenger flight that took off from Bangkok's Don Mueang International Airport and landed in Surat Thani, Thailand. Thai Airways International, Thailand's flag carrier, operated the route. During a landing attempt at Surat Thani Airport on December 11, 1998, the aircraft, an Airbus A310-204 registered in Thailand as HS-TIA, stalled and crashed into a marsh. The crash claimed the lives of 101 individuals.
#4. Rajiv Gandhi was elected as Indian National Congress Leader
Gandhi led the Indian National Congress party's election campaign. Under his leadership, the party went from 44 out of 543 seats in 2014 to 52 out of 542 seats in 2019. In 2019, it also increased its vote from 19.3 percent to 19.5 percent. The Indian National Congress received 52 seats, falling short of the 10% threshold required to claim the office of Leader of the Opposition. Gandhi resigned as party leader after this terrible election result and was succeeded by his mother, Sonia Gandhi.

On December 11, 2019, the Indian Parliament enacted the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019. It changed the Citizenship Act of 1955 to create a road to Indian citizenship for persecuted religious minorities from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan who are Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis, or Christians and arrived in India before December 31, 2014.
