According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, this information was outed; the Chris Mynes family members were traveling in an SUV and were suddenly hit by a pickup truck. Alivia and her father, Chris Mynes, 52 years old Chris, died in the horrible crash. Alivia's mother and her teenage sister were safe and survived with minor injuries. After the collision, sent Chris' wife, Jennifer, and their youngest daughter Sydney to the hospital. Sydney is also a junior volleyball player at Creekview.

Alivia Mynes had completed her first year playing for Bryan College. The 18-year-old was home in Canton for Thanksgiving when tragedy struck Thursday morning.

Chris Mynes, who was driving the car, and Alivia was sitting in the back seat, were killed in the crash. After the accident occurred, Jennifer and Sydney Mynes were both taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.
The sheriff's office said the truck driver was a 24-year-old from Canton who was hit and taken to Kennestone with non-life-threatening injuries.
