Dariel is a non-magical soldier in the Dark Lord's army. Instead, he serves as an aide to one of the Dark Lord's most trusted captains, using his intelligence and initiative. However, Dariel, too, loses his privileged status and is fired when the captain is abruptly removed. After being let down, he retires in a human settlement, uses his powers to help, and requests to start over.

Dariel, the previous Demon King's adopted son, is banished by his envious adoptive brother since he cannot utilize magic. As these things go, he ends up lost and wandering around until saving an unrelated damsel in distress and discovering that he is genuinely a physical powerhouse. Naturally, since this is a "slow life" anime, he declines to use his newfound abilities in a meaningful way. However, something must emerge and take the lead when there is no excitement. The drama involving interpersonal relationships, comedies, or romance can all work. The issue is that none of those elements are present in this first episode.

Dariel's realization that his entire life has been a lie and that he is not a demon and has instead been a human his entire life has almost no effect on him or how he sees the world. In this episode, it is shown that every significant choice that Dariel makes in this episode is made by staring at Marika's breasts and letting his dick think because he is such a shallow character and utterly devoid of self-awareness.
