Carly's elder sister Simon Joanna Simon passed away on 19th October 2022 from thyroid cancer, and her other elder sister Lucy Simon died the following day from metastatic breast cancer. Carly's brother Peter Simon died because of lung cancer on 18th November 2018. According to latimes, opera singer Joanna Simon died due to thyroid cancer at age 85. In contrast, the Tony and Grammy Award-winning Lucy Simon died from metastatic breast cancer at 82.
