Ayushman Bharat Yojana 2021

The Government of India under the leadership of Shri. Narendra Modi launched the Ayushman Bharat Yojana on the 23rd of September 2018, to provide free of cost healthcare facilities to  40% of citizens living in the poor and backward areas. People who are economically and financially weak can benefit from the Ayushman Bharat Yojana by availing free medical treatment from a family doctor present in the local primary health centre.

The Ayushman Bharat Yojana turned out to be a hit as the scheme was able to cover around forty-five lakh beneficiaries and 10 crore e-cards have been issued to the citizens and approximately twenty thousand hospitals were empanelled under this scheme. The Indian Government is planning to provide secondary and tertiary health care facilities completely cashless by issuing e-cards.

This e-card can be used in empanelled hospitals public or private in any part of the country by the citizens for cashless treatment. The e-card covers three days of pre-hospitalisation and two weeks of post-hospitalisation expenses. The Ayushman Bharat Yojana e-card provides a coverage of Rs. 5 lakh per family enabling the financially backward people to benefit from the Ayushman Bharat Arogya Yojana introduced by the Government of India.

There is as such no Ayushman Bharat Yojana application because PMJAY applies to all citizens identified by the SEC 2011 and for those who are already enrolled in other Government Health Schemes. To know whether you are eligible, please follow the below steps to check if you are eligible for the Ayushman Bharat Yojana or  PMJAY scheme.

  • Browse https://www.pmjay.gov.in/ and click on ‘Am I Eligible’

  • Select your state and search by name/ HHD number/ ration card number/ mobile number

  • Enter your mobile number and retype the CAPTCHA code and click on ‘Generate OTP’

  • Depending on the particulars given the search results will auto- verify if your family is covered under  PMJAY or Ayushman Bharat Yojana

  • Or you can contact an Empanelled Health Care Provider (EHCP) or dial the Ayushman Bharat Yojana call centre number: 14555 or 1800-111-565 to know your eligibility.

Ayushman Bharat Yojana List 

  • Mental patient treatment

  • Emergency care and facility for elderly patients

  • All facilities and treatment for women during maternity

  • Dental care

  • Complete health facility for the child

  • Special attention to the health of the elderly, children, women

  • Upto 9000 rupees for women during maternity

  • Newborn and child health services

  • Allocated Rs 600 crore for the treatment of TB patients.

  • The government will cover all expenses incurred before the patient is admitted and after discharge.
